“Where words leave off, music begins.” Music, the word itself refreshes and rejuvenates our minds and souls. We feel afresh once again. Music is therapy. Everything in this world has its music. The raindrops falling have music, the leaves rumbling has its music, the birds chirping have their own, and everything is musical in this world. We grow up with music. We hardly find someone saying they do not love music. Music is inbuilt in our souls. We learn different musical instruments as we grow up. They make us more patient and calm. We have all tried singing at some point in time in our life. Singing helps us to feel at home. We have music for different moods. Music seems to say the unsaid feelings of our hearts. Be it a wedding or a party, music is mandatory. Unknown people connect over music. Music is said to release dopamine in our brains, the reason why we feel happy and relaxed. Music is just not for recreation purposes it has several health benefits too.
Health Benefits of Music:
It improves our mood. No matter how difficult our day was, once we hear the music of our choice, we are relaxed. Nothing is more relaxing than sitting at home, sipping some hot coffee, and listening to music. Music is the best mood lifter.
Music reduces stress. We are stressed occasionally and fail to balance out in life. Music comes to our rescue. If we listen to soothing music when we are stressed, it will calm our nerves. Music therapy is a well-known process for reducing stress and anxiety with the aid of music. We have professionals aiding us with music therapy.
Music lessens our anxiety. Music is the best friend of a person who is suffering from hyper anxiety. As we listen to music it helps us forget our anxiety and make us a lot calmer.
Music helps us improve our exercise. Most of us get lazy at the thought of doing exercise every day. But, when we have music to it, we feel like doing it. Music helps us do our exercise better and fills in us more energy and enthusiasm. Gyms nowadays have a music system dedicated to this purpose. Music helps us stay fit and increases our physical stimulation.
Music improves memory. Music is made of repetitions and follows rhythm and pattern. As we often listen to the same music, we remember the lyrics and the rhythm. This helps us to improve our memorizing skills and make us more attentive than before.
Music eases pain. People who are in physical pain, music keep them distracted and they heal faster. Hospitals have mild music attached to personal cabins to help the patients recover quickly.
Music is a great comfort giver. It is like a best friend. Whenever we are angry, sad, or depressed, we have music for each mood. Music seems to understand our mood and communicate with our inner soul. Whenever we are alone and in dire need of our near and dear ones, music offers a hand of comfort.
Music improves our cognitive abilities. People who have difficulty with memorizing listen to music often to regain some lost fragments of memory. Music helps in maintaining our mental abilities.
Music is a great help for autistic children. Music therapy is often prescribed to children suffering from autism. It improves their communication skills, social responses, and attentiveness.
Music soothes premature babies. Lullabies are often sung to babies to make them fall asleep. It soothes their nerves and serves as great support.
Music has always been a part and parcel of our lives. We can imagine the discomfort and irritation we have when we forget our ear pods at home while traveling for great distances. Music is a need for traveling long distances all by ourselves. It frees us from our loneliness and it is the best travel partner. Nowadays, carrying ear pods has become a necessity as we do not dare to travel in this chaotic environment.
