 Introduction

Acid attack is the evil practice that is the evil practice that being practice in our society a weapon that is sued against the women in our society by men and in some cases by the women itself. Many women have faced acid attack in India as in most of the cases the women have hurt the so call “ego” of man by raising voice against them. in some cases, women take this evil action against the other women due to jealousy. Sometime the evil husband proceeds to such activity as the women he got married has got less dowry from her parental house. The male ego is fed on the system of patriarchy from centuries they cannot handle or tolerate any sort of rejection. The acids used against the women is so strong that in some cases it leads to death of the victim and the face and the body of the victim becomes flesh charred and beyond recognition. The maximum intention behind the acid attack is seldom homicidal. Few years back in India the selling of acid was very common like the acid was available almost everywhere. But now that the voice was raised against such act the selling of acid has been made a little nowadays it is not that commonly available. People buying the acid has to show the Aadhaar card on the basis of that the acid would be sold to that customer.

Regulation pertaining its sale

Acid attack has been recognised as a specific crime under two section of IPC [ Indian penal code] 326A and 326B was inserted in IPC after the amendment act of 2013.

The easy and cheap availability of the acid has made it more common for the attackers to attack the victim. In 2013 the model poisonous possession and sales rule were frame under the poisons act, 1919 to regulate sale of acids and other corrosive substances. The model includes inter alia that means the form of acids that can be stored and sold in the market any person who sells the acids without following the grounds that are mentioned in the model is liable for punishments that is imprisonment for 1 month that can be extended for 6 months.

After the girl name Laxmi fought against the selling of acids openly in the market the selling of the same was made strict in the market.

In the supreme court case of 2013 Laxmi Vs the Union of state it directed the union territories with the appropriate rules for the sale of acids in state and union territories. Banning the sale of acids to people stating that only those who have valid card for buying the card and have a written statement from the government giving them permission to buy the same with their reason mention in it can only buy the corrosive acid substances. The supreme court also ordered the state and the union territories to treat the acid victims by providing them free medical facility. It has also ordered the police station that as soon as they are reported with the news of acid attack the concern SDM should inquire how the acid was procured on the victim.

Conclusion

Hereby even when the laws and related implication have been made by the supreme court of India there are still acid victims and some of the shops are selling in cheap rates. The formulation of the law is not a problem but implementation of the same is the big problem for our country we should not taught women how to walk how to talk or how sit instead we should teach our boys how to respect women around them. they think that smashing the acid over someone face will change their opinion about them but hence they are wrong.
