Science is the Service of Man

The modern age has rightly been mentioned as the age of science. Science has unlocked and widenedthe new boundaries of human knowledge, information, comforts, and achievements. The scientific path from unawareness to knowledge, from superstitions to the scientific wisdom and form darkness to the light, has been a long struggle. This struggle was full of troubles, determinations, labor, hard work, trial, and errors as well as changes.

Boon for mankind

One of the greatest blessings of science to mankind is electricity. Electricity has brought a lot to change our lives. It has removed darkness.

It runs our machines and has lessened human toil. It has increased industrial productivity and efficiency. Electricity has made the life of housewife easy. Now she has the refrigerator, washing machine, microwave oven, mixer-grinder, electric kettle, etc.

Electricity has lessened the severity of the weather. We can make use of air conditioner, room heater, fan, etc. It runs trains and metro trains. We cannot think of life without electricity. Power cut of a few minutes causes a great inconvenience

Today, we have a lot of variety of means of entertainment and information. Radio, cinema, television, etc. are popular means of mass communication.

Connectivity

Today, we have a Smartphone to reach everywhere within a minute. Science has given us a computer and the internet.

Communication has also been made easier and quicker using telephone radio and other telecommunications. On account of the development of scientific methods of transport and communication, trade and commerce have prospered enormously. The invention of electricity has revolutionized our lives.

Satellite communication has helped in the rapid contact of people from one corner of the world to another. Immediate communication through telephones, smartphones, and electronic mails are great wonders of science

Through networking, a computer can be connected to other computers in the world. Satellites have also changed the world of entertainment through radios and cable television. Science has completely changed the viewpoints of man.

Man’s life becomes easy, convenient, and comfortable because of several scientific inventions, Science is a powerful weapon and it is up to man how to use it.

However, it is in the hands of the man to decide what service he desires from science.

Science in the field of medicine

Science has helped us to conquer many deadly diseases and viruses. Diseases like tuberculosis and cancer are the most dangerous and no longer considered dangerous and incurable. Operations are performed painlessly. The discovery of X-ray has helped in the diagnosis of a disease and in locating an injury or fracture. Electric shocks are a great boon to surgery. Also, new ultra scanning and plastic surgery are the wonders of science in the field of medicine.

Science has done wonders in the field of medicine and surgery. We are armed to fight fatal diseases like Cholera, Plague, Smallpox, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.  plants and thereby leading to number harvest, Pesticides have eradicated all plant diseases and the yield from the field is growing day by day.

The dark side of Science 

Science is both constructive and destructive. It has given a nuclear bomb, hydrogen bombs, fighter planes, sophisticated assault guns, pistols, and rifles. Laser bombs,

Boon or curse: Conclusion

No doubt the misuse of science and its discoveries has brought the entire humanity on the edge of destruction just because of its destructive weapons.Thus, science should be used as a benefit, as a means and a tool to improve the quality of life. The misuse and abuse of science are bound to make our life horrifying.
