Nowadays a vast number of people especially children want to eat fast food like pizza, burger , shakes, etc. Why are fast-food restaurants so popular these days? There are many reasons for it but one of the major reasons is that it is helpful for individuals who are bustling in present-day life. It’s very quick to order through or a pickup. 

It has become a fashion to walk on the street with a coffee or go to a restaurant at the weekend. But have you ever noticed the causes and effects of fast food?If not, here are some listed.

Causes of the popularity of fast-food restaurants

  • They're quick: It’s not surprising to say but yes there are hundreds of restaurants at every second corner of the road. You can easily find the food at a reasonable price and the taste is also so far good.


  • They're easy to get to while every cuisine takes time to cook but here is a different story. Mostly fast foods are made using machines.


  • I like the taste of fast food: mostly fast food contains items that are unhealthy. And unhealthy foods are tasty. For example mayonnaises, cheese, spicy powders, sugar, fat, etc.


  • They're inexpensive: fast foods are generally inexpensive. They contain fewer items which are sold very easily and available.


  • I'm too busy to cook: people are so busy with their work-life that they are not able to find time to cook instead they prefer to order online or pick up.


  • It's a "treat" for me: fast foods are generally delicious and people want to treat them with high calories because it is tasty.


  • I don't like to prepare food myself: people don’t usually like to cook because it's tiring and time-consuming. They can watch TV and within that time their food can be delivered.


  • It is a way of socializing with friends and family: people throw a party at the weekend or go to restaurants to meet their family and friends. They spend quality time together.

Effects of fast food on your health

  • Bloating- Some foods naturally contain higher amounts of sodium, but sodium is also added to many food products. Some of these additives are monosodium glutamate (MSG), sodium nitrite, sodium saccharin, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), and sodium benzoate, which are used as flavoring or preservatives. Regarding dietary sodium limits, it's suggested that adults stay under 1,500 milligrams per day, and should never consume more than 2,300 milligrams day. A single fast-food meal can exceed 2,300 milligrams. Too much sodium causes your body to retain water, making you feel bloated and puffy.

  • Constipation- Dietary fiber(commonly found in vegetables, fruits, assemble grains, nuts, and seeds) plays a key role in the digestive system. Fiber helps save your digestive tract functioning properly as it ushers wastes out of the body. It can encourage lower cholesterol and save blood sugar levels adequately.

  • Starvation- The high calories in fast food are accompanied by low nutritional content. Too much of that and your body will begin to lack the necessary nutrients it needs to behave properly. Your body is temporarily full of fast foods that don't have enough maintenance nourishment; consequently,even though you may have eaten a lot of calories, you won't be satisfied for long.

  • Decaying of teeth- Frequent soda intake can lead to poor oral health. Drinking large amounts of soda increases the amount of acid in your mouth, which eventually causes tooth decay and cavities. 

  • Mental health decline- Recent research shows that eating fast food may cause a higher rate of depression. One study indicated that people who ate fast food were 51 percent more likely to develop depression than those who didn't.

  • Digestion system- Sodium also can contribute to existing high blood pressure or greater than before heart muscle. If you have congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or kidney chaos, too much salt can contribute to a dangerous manufacture-happening of unstructured. Excess sodium may contribute to your risk of kidney stones and kidney disease, as per Harvard Medical School.

  • High Cholesterol- Many fast foods served are derived from animal products, deep-fried and served in the song of cheese and high-fat dipping sauces. The high-fat content in fast food can contribute to high cholesterol, which can in addition to guide to atherosclerosis. That occurs once plaque builds occurring in the arteries and prevents the flow of blood to the heart and organs.

  • Heart disease- Fats commonly found in fast food are made happening of saturated fatty acids. Those are fats that are sealed at room temperature, often derived from animals and some tree-tree-plant oils. You'll find it abundant in, proclaim, a cheeseburger. These fats can lift your blood cholesterol levels, which leads to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.

So eat healthily and stay healthy.
