Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world"; and for it to make a difference the base needs to build a strong foundation, or else the building of education might fall off.

Around someday back, The Economist distributed a convincing, authentic, discouraging, and profoundly despicable anecdote about India's 'fizzling' educational system which teaches around 260 million kids.

India’s status in primary education

While all-inclusive access to essential training in India might be valid on paper, the truth is that neither can these youngsters go to class nor do they learn a lot while in school and this is where the Indian education system at a primary level has failed immensely.

Indeed, India has made a lot of difference from what it was years ago. In this decade, India has gained noteworthy ground on access to tutoring and enlistment rates in essential training yet dropout rates and low degrees of learning remain difficulties for the state and local government.

Elementary school enlistment in India has been an example of overcoming adversity, generally because of different projects and drives to build enrolment even in remote zones.

Our reach and efforts

With enlistment coming to in any event 96 percent since 2009, and young ladies making up 56 percent of new understudies somewhere in the range of 2007 and 2013, unmistakably numerous issues of access to tutoring have been tended to. Upgrades to the framework have been a need to accomplish this and India currently has 1.4 million schools and 7.7 million educators, so 98 percent of residences have an elementary school (class I-V) inside one kilometer and 92 percent have an upper-grade school (class VI-VIII) inside a three-kilometer strolling separation. Yet it’s difficult to keep the students intact throughout the entire process as the drop rate increases when they reach high school.

Despite of all the efforts made by the Central as well as the State government a lot is yet lacking in the system at the grass-root level which is leading to its failure immensely, the quality of education is immensely poor and has some major issues and children at various levels aren't even given the education at that level.

According to a survey done by Pratham's Annual Status of Education in 2013, it was found that half of the students in the fifth standard and around 75% in the third standard cannot read a book of the second standard which is quite a shocking reality that a lot of us aren't aware of as we tend to forget the grass-root level adding to these kids from third standard cannot perform simple division.

What should we do?

Now the government should not just provide education rather quality education that would add up to some good for them as well as their future. Improving learning will expect consideration regarding numerous things, including expanding instructor responsibility.

As indicated by school visits, educator participation is only 85 percent in essential and center schools and raising the measure of time instructors spend on-task and expanding their obligation regarding understudy adapting likewise needs improvement.

Some portion of this procedure requires better evaluations at various levels and progressively effective checking and emotionally supportive networks. By and large, the government-funded educational system additionally needs a superior general administration framework.

Other simultaneous issues

India additionally faces numerous difficulties that could be handled through the institutional framework. For one, sex-ed issues have gone to the front in light of the spate of ongoing instances of savagery against females. Changing sex mentalities is by all accounts should be the sole objective. Likewise, India, alongside most nations, is worried about the eventual fate of the work market and employability; Prime Minister’s office needs to accentuate aptitude advancement to make school education more significant.

A step taken; a lot more to go

The absence of learning in India's schools calls for changes to educator training. A joint effort between American colleges' schools of instruction with Indian educators preparing organizations could help construct limit and redesign instructor instruction, both regarding the educational program and teaching method, which is truly necessary for Indian educator instruction foundations like the District Institutes of Education and Training. Such coordinated efforts could be encouraged through innovation, cooperative exploration ventures, educator trades, and sponsored online courses for instructors in India by colleges in the United States.

One cannot learn all the facts and figures all the time and cannot remember them for a longer period whereas if one is made to install the process of thinking, logical reasoning and understanding one will lead a better life of a literate and would be able to apply in their life.

" Education is not about learning the facts rather training the mind how to think"
