This is a common notion among the humans that we worry more about the future than living in the present; which can single handedly raise our stress level. That is where we lack and that raises the chances of us committing errors.
Therefore, it is necessary to enjoy and live in the present. We need to enjoy our work and not just sit and worry about the future. Nothing is too easy in this world, everything needs hard work and struggle and the results of the future depend upon what we do now. Thus, the choice of enjoying what we do is the better one.
There is this common phrase that tells us to do what we love and love what we do. That is what we need to incorporate in our lives. We should love our work and enjoy the journey. Every success has to go across tons of hurdles, but it should not scare. Instead, we need to learn to be calm and steadily cross the difficulties.
The first step towards enjoying the procedure is to not worry a lot and find happiness and a little bit of satisfaction at every step of the way.
What are some of the ways that we can enjoy the process instead of constantly worrying about the result.
1. Indulge in the activity
One major mistake that we make is imagining what will happen instead of working on making that happen, which stresses us out. When we are working on something, be it a project, a social cause or even our health, we need to love and engage ourselves in the goal. We should be a part of it.
Not everything can be achieved within a step. It is a series of steps that lead us to our goal. It can take days, weeks, months or even years. We just need to keep on going and appreciate ourselves even at the smallest of achievements.
2. Self-motivation
One of the important things to enjoy the process is to want to do it voluntarily. It does not matter how good you are or how much appreciation you get if you are not interested in the work you are doing- you won't be able to feel good about it.
That is why you need to trigger yourself, you need to push yourself and motivate yourself to get on that track and work, live and enjoy. When we do things that we want to do, there is a high chance of us enjoying and capturing every moment.
3. Do not be afraid of failures
"Hope for the best, but be ready for the worst."
We tend to worry about the result only because of the fear of failing. First of all, we need to look at failures as a part of the journey and not the end of it. Failures are learning experiences. They make us better people by tending to push us to improve ourselves.
Thus, we need to beware of what we are doing, analyze but not stress upon it. It is okay to fail, not everyone succeeds at the same time. There is always going to be one chance more and we can keep trying. Gaining experiences and learning from our mistakes.
4. Take a break
Every body needs rest. Even an inanimate object like a mobile phone needs rest to sustain its battery for a long time. Our body is built in such a way that it can go only so long without rest.
Take regular breaks, do refreshing things, eat properly, sleep properly, have a healthy schedule. Human brain was not built for the extended focus we ask for these days, and that is a problem. Hence, we need to make sure our brain gets enough rest.
When things go offbeat or nothing seems to go right or you are having a creative block, just drop it for a while and focus on something that will relax your mind and body. Sleep, listen to music, go for a walk, sit in a park, watch the sunrise or the sunset. Do anything lighthearted and enjoy. Enjoying is necessary.
These are only some ways, they are abundant more. One thing that I noticed was that most of the above mentioned things had one common reason behind it and that was stress. We humans tend to stress about mostly everything in our lives and that causes a lot of errors and a lot of health issues. So, we need to let loose and enjoy our life like it is our day; that is, live to your fullest- appreciate the smallest things in life, stop worrying so much, and it will be fine.
Enjoy what you are doing. Enjoy the journey.
