Childhood is for fun. But the number of minors in crime like murder and rape is increasing rapidly which is very worrying for the whole society. The age of sixteen is called teenagers age, but if we look at the figure, it looks like a black age. According to the National Crime Bureau, the age of sixteen is becoming the age to become a criminal. Some children pay to small children to do the wrong thing. If someone's friends are doing wrong, then he also asks his friends to do the same thing this is called peer pressure.
The juvenile crime graph is 64%. So, let me tell you who is juvenile?
Juvenile means a very young person teenager, an adolescent. A juvenile crime committed by those in the 16-18 age groups. Crime by a juvenile is harsh in reality today's world .as per the juvenile justice act, 2000, a juvenile shall not be treated as an adult and his criminal activities are not involved in a court of law.
As we are all aware of Nirbhaya case which took place on 16 December 2013 shocked the whole country. In this case, 5 were accused and the remaining one was juvenile .Pavan Kumar contended that he was a juvenile under the juvenile justice act. He claimed that per his records, his date of birth is 08.10.1996.and on the day of the Nirbhaya incident. Pavan was only16 years 02 months and 08 days and was released from a reformation home after serving a three-year term.
REASONS FOR JUVENILE CRIMES
The main reason for juvenile crimes is poverty, low moral values, and poor enforcement of the law. As no one is born to be a criminal but the circumstances of his life make him like a criminal. Due to poverty, children are associated with juvenile crimes.
Poor educational standards: overcrowded and underfunded schools tend to lack discipline and order.
Violence in the home: mostly teens subjected to violent actions, or those who witness it to others, are more likely to act with fear and frustrations
Peer pressure: in this pressure, if all of their friends are committing criminal activities, the child may feel pressured to do the same activities.
Lack of moral guidance: it is the most common factor in which parents do not have time for their child and they don't know about their child activities, in this way a child starts with hiring juvenile activities due to lack of his parent's guidance.
LAW FOR JUVENILE CRIME
The law allows for juveniles 16 years or older to be tried as adults for heinous offenses like rapes and murder. Heinous offenses are those which are punishable with imprisonment of seven years or more.
According to the juvenile justice act, 2000 juvenile may be kept in an 'observation home ' in which children are need of care and protection need to be kept in children home before the competent authority.
Recently, due to an increase in major crimes the government has made major changes in the laws.
HOW TO STOP JUVENILE CRIME
Children's court has been established in India under the Children Act of 1960. The children's act of 1960 has been replaced by the children's Justice Act 1986. At present, all the status of India has child courts. A first-class magistrate, criminal child, parents, probation officer, police in ordinary clothes, sometimes lawyer are also present in the child court, the environment of the child court is such that the brain of the court in the child's brain As soon as a child commits a crime, he is first sent to the remand area and within 24 hours he is presented before the child court, at the time of his hearing the person is also called to whom the child has committed a crime after the hearing, the delinquent children's are handed over to them by giving them warning, fines or bonding with the parents or they are released on probation or replaced in a reputed institution, a recognized school probation hostel.
CONCLUSION
Many children in our country commit big crimes like murder, rape. They commit crimes because his family members are unable to give them a good education. Our government is taking the tough steps against the jubilee crime.
