Express remorse
Sometimes the person makes be surrounded with a feeling of guilt, negativity and one can also feel ashamed of doing something wrong. But we all need to accept that these feeling are “ok” in fact if we feel guilty it is an indication of being a good human being. Gaining the trust and restoring the damage
Just like forgiving others takes time and once they make it up to us the forgiveness is accomplished similarly, we should not completely forgive ourselves until and unless we make it up to that mistake and gain confidence in ourselves that the mistake will not be repeated. We need to ratify our actions and if we have harmed anyone in the mistake, we should apologise rather than arguing.
Focus on the renewal and the new you
The fact is that everyone makes mistake and learns from it they feel sorry and regretful for their own actions. Feeling this and working on the mistake that you did in past is good but having the feeling of self hatred, or even pity could be damage self esteem and self respect of an individual. Forgiving yourself requires a plan that is why did you do the mistake? What steps can you take to prevent it later? Why did you act in a certain way?
