Health Scenes- Deficiencies and achievement

We spent the last few years coughing to the winter breeze and sneezing to the summer showers. Licking up cones of ice cream in the chilly night and gargling the throat vigorously enough to wake the sleeping owls. Spending the sunday afternoon with beverages and potato chips and later cursing the weighing machine for bursting the cloud of obesity. We spent some days shrinking yourself because of the peer pressure and other days soothing our sweet tooth out of frustration. Life has always  been a roller coaster ride and our health  withers away with this ride.  Health is an unrecognized pursuit of our life. It is often overlooked because we are aiming  for money. It is human psychology to believe that money can heal all pain but if there is no human body left to bear the pain then what is the use of this wealth?

I believe when B. K. S Iyengar says that Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit. When one is free from physical disabilities and mental distractions, the gates of the soul open."

We all are aware of the fact that India is the fastest growing economy in recent times.  The rapid growth in the IT sector and industries are swiftly rising in the upcoming years.  The population of the country has juxtaposed itself with the youth empowerment which led to the elevation in the work power of our country. Hence an alter form of technology and industrial estate can be perceived. Apart from these, medical growth is one of the rapid growing sectors in our country. Health is one of the important factor taken into account when we talk about a countries development.

In the year 2016, the medical research sector in India was comparatively more focused on developing more research facilities in the rural section of India. Premium field research centre of NORTH was established in Spiti and Lahaul area aimed at catering better health care for the indigenous tribes. More funds were allocated for the functioning of the satellite centre of NIIH in the affected areas of Maharashtra especially in the areas of Chandrapur, highly affected by sickle cell anaemia. The research output was also nominal during the year. In the below table are some key statistics as to how the medical research sector of India performed under ICMR during the years 2015 and 2016 combined.( A medlife report)

ACHIEVEMENT

The most remarkable achievement in the field of medical in the world history are as follows:

  1. The education of human anatomy: we cannot understand the human body until and unless we know what it comprises. Human anatomy is described as a view of the human body from the inside, it's functioning, its arrangement. The unraveling of the human mechanism. The corpse which is the lifeless body is use for examining the anatomy of the human being

  2.   Apart from anatomy the other most revolutionised achievement was the study of human psychology. Human mind is one of the most powerful weapons. Hence a study of the human brain added fireworks to medical science. It is the psychic evolution of a human being. The understanding of pros and cons that resides inside our human mind. The study of human anatomy reached its zenith in the 17th and 18th century, when the ideas of the printing press spread and initiated collaboration and cadavers (corpses) became widely available to medical schools.

  3. Discovery of other microorganisms like BACTERIA.Bacteria was discovered in 1660s by a Dutch cloth merchant named Anton van Leeuwenhoek Germ Theory which linked bacteria to some diseases--arose in the 1870s when two scientists, Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch, discovered the process of pasteurization--boiling a substance to kill the bacteria and protect it from spoiling.

  4. Discovery of penicillin and antibiotics. This was one of the major discoveries in medical history. The discovery of antibiotics cures diseases like cholera,  pneumonia and many others.

  5. A team of scientists, Alexander Fleming, Ernst Chain and Howard Florey, created Penicillin in 1940, but it was so hard to produce at first that there was always a chronic shortage.

  6. Vaccine led to the cure of my disease that hurled up the world creating a pandemic spread. The first inkling of a vaccine occurred in 1796 when the English doctor Edward Jenner prevented a boy from getting smallpox.

  7. Pain relief - in the early time liquor was given to suffice any surgery. With the invention of pain relief these surgeries  became painless.Vaccine like anesthesia.

Like every coin has two phases similarly every existing thing in this world comes with cons as well. The most evident deficiency in the health scene can be surely perceived by the pandemic we are living in.  It has been more that 200 days and yet we have no proper medication for Covid -19 in spite of having a great health history. A similar pandemic of Ebola circumferenced us a few decades back and how can we forget the after effects of nuclear attack? The generation after the nuclear war is still facing it's trauma.

So it's not always that we bear the fruit, sometimes we have to wait a lot to enjoy the actual fruit.
