“Great things in business are never done by one person; they are done by a team of people.” — Steve Jobs

Ever wondered why a company has so many members even though people say that change can happen with a single person. Why do people want to work together?

Teamwork is a necessary part of workplace success. When a basketball team, works together to set up the proper shot, every team member plays a specific role in accomplishing tasks on the job. Although it’s going to seem as if one player scored the basket, that basket was made possible by many people’s planning, coordination, and cooperation to get that player the ball.

Employers search for people that not only know how to work well with others, but who understand that not every player on the team can or will be the one who gets the ball. When everyone within the workplace works together to accomplish goals, everyone achieves more.

Here are some benefits of teamwork:-

● Fosters creativity and learning - Employees are a bit keen on workplace creativity. Creativity inspires employees to work together in exceeding way. When the team has new ideas they'll sit together to form more practical solutions. It may well be fun to be creative and more enjoyable to work for the corporate. Working together as a team is more productive than working in isolation. Teamwork also maximizes the possibilities of learning from each other’s mistakes which you'll be able to use it for the rest of your career.

● Idea generation - Working together on a project will raise the enthusiasm for the whole team to bring out more ideas and increase both individual and team knowledge. The inspiration and ideas that pop up from team discussions can never be replaced by any other source.

Share the workload - It can be challenging sometimes for people to work together for a common goal and to perform excellently always. But sharing the workload with the team will make things quite easy. While working in a team, other members can do the part they are good at and for what they are qualified and they enjoy doing.

● Gaining new perspectives - People go through long discussions and group interactions that give them a chance to get a new perspective to analyze situations. When you work in a team you deal with different situations in your work culture that will help you to understand different scenarios of the workplace. Teamwork makes you more open to different things. You learn new things from other members of the team.

● Adds Fun to the Work - Working as a team adds fun to the workplace. Having fun at work can make the working environment stress-free. Working as a team is also very inspiring. By having a stress-free and enjoyable environment at your workplace, a person can easily improve the overall productivity of the company.

● Boosts Productivity - Improved productivity is one amongst the important good thing about teamwork. Sharing workload, tackling situations differently, better customer service, gaining new perspectives, generating new ideas, etc. can automatically boost the general productivity. With more hands and more minds at work, productivity automatically improves.

● Strong work ethic and team spirit - The team is a way that can show how smart-work and team spirit can benefit the output. Whenever somebody feels left out or demotivated team members help each other and provide support.

Note to facilitators:-

Learning the worth of teamwork and becoming a good member of a team is a crucial step in developing leadership skills. For disconnected youth, especially those with underlying disabilities, the development of these skills is critical. Young people without a connection to work or school typically have had limited exposure to positive and proactive support systems or a real sense of the essence of the proactive support of a community. Affording young experiences through which they learn to depend on themselves and others is an important factor in the development of a productive teamwork mentality.

A single person can not do everything. Working in a team is somewhat obligatory and you can choose to work in a team to improve your success rate. Having an honest team of people around you not only helps you to remain grounded but also enables you to think in numerous ways, push boundaries with new ideas, and most significantly it provides you with a robust support network.
