Don’t Let Your Busy Schedule Ruin Your Health

Health is Wealth

The gradual shift of trends towards an unhealthy lifestyle is now turning into an exponential change. We all are adopting unhealthy lifestyles and justifying it with our busy schedule. Grooving deep into that, it is difficult to understand how people are not getting time to maintain their own health and if it is really not possible to utilize even a few minutes to take care of oneself, there is a need for reconsidering the work they are doing. We work to have a healthy and good lifestyle and if this primary goal of it is not fulfilled we need to reconsider.

People have evaluated the importance of health, wealth, and time in their life in the wrong way. There are people who walk for 20 minutes to save 20 rupees and there are others who would use transport to save 20 minutes. Everyone can have different perspectives and priorities. We need to redefine our priorities and have to put our health in the very first place: for our health is not just linked with us but also with the people linked with us. We all know how much a family has to work hard to treat a sick person.

Now, people want to be called a busy person, and not being able to give time to their health gives them a sense of being important and dominant in their surroundings. Busy people eat processed fast foods like burgers and pizza which is really full of unhygienic carbs and has no actual nutritional values. They are more attracted by carbonated soft drinks which are really harmful to the body. Some people even consume packaged drinks and foods which are labeled as healthy food and drinks but even they are really harmful as they are processed a lot and hold no or very less nutrition value, and also they contain harmful preservatives and food colors which to increase their shelf life.

One of the major reasons for growing people’s interest in fast food is false marketing. Some big business tycoons have spread this concept to the people without telling them the cons of it. Even the governments have helped them a lot by making suitable rules and regulations. Even the government agencies in India like FSSAI ( Food Safety and Security Authority of India) lack of giving information properly. There are plenty of products in the Indian market which is not found qualified to be sold in markets of developed countries but they are sold here with the assurance that it's healthy.

Also, the working culture of the companies and schools in India promotes fast food. Like, in most of the companies of every industry staff are given a very short break where they can go out,  eat and come back that’s why people tend to eat some quick food.

Our body is a great responder. It starts to give signals when things are not going well. We can feel fever, nausea, or some other symptoms but instead of recognizing the core issue we just take some paracetamol, antibiotics, etc. without doctor's prescription. We are de-immunizing our bodies. We drink RO water without even knowing the real composition of water. We don’t have to use RO water if our TDS is moderate. RO water with fewer TDS can take away all nutrients from your bodies and make you less immune. That is why we need to study things we are using rather just blindly believing in the advertisements and following it.

What can we do to get a healthy lifestyle despite having a packed schedule? Below are four things that you can incorporate in your daily routine:

Exercise and yoga: You may not be able to wake up early in the morning but you can still take out a few minutes to do some exercise and yoga. Few quick ones to energize all body could be Pranayam, Kapal-Bhati, stretching, and sprint.

Raw or less processed food: Avoid having packaged food or too much-processed food and instead go for raw and fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals, lentils. You can replace soft drinks by sugarcane juice, coconut water, etc or any other fresh fruit juice.

Some personal time: We must take out a few hours to do what we like. This can keep your mind healthy. We know that body and mind are co-dependent.

Proper sleep: One of the major activities required for a healthy body is around 8 hours of inactivity; sleep. We know that due to a lot of pressure of work and studies and also because of irregular habits we are not able to get proper sleep which is a big reason for the illness of minds and bodies.

“Wealth can never give you good health but good health has the potential to give you everything”
