It is known and proved that the world is billions of years old and that everything we have now did not exist back at the very beginning (except a few countable ones) and then everything kept evolving slowly, step by step. Along the lines when human beings entered the picture, evolution took a different turn, as the human brain started creating artificial equipment.
Life, in terms of human energy consumption, is much easier now with the advancement of modern science and technology. We have types of machinery to do loads of jobs that had to be done manually. If someone who lived a hundred years ago were to see the current situation of the world, they would be astonished to the core, because that is how much everything has changed. The way their world worked was probably calmer but filled with more expenditure of muscular power relatively. Everything from the general beliefs of people to their lifestyle has changed.
The intervention of science and technology in human lives was bound to change the way things worked and the way humans lived. When machinery accumulated their places in the industries, the worker class went on strikes and demanded the human-made equipment to go away because they were losing their jobs because technology had started replacing muscular power. This implies that machines reduce the amount of muscular power required by masses.
The influence of science was so strong that people are now surrounded by it, even the ones who do not believe in science. Our day begins and ends with science and technology. Alarm clocks are the contribution of science, even pens are the contribution of science. Everything we do involves science in it and that has made life easier.
Science made life easier and efficient
Medical Field:-
Beginning with the most important aspect of everything, that is life itself, science has given immense contribution here. Starting from awareness to vaccines, it has done it all.
Ages ago, there wasn't a proper cure for diseases. People did not even know that diseases could have been cured. But as time went by and researchers and scientists came along, many cures were found and innumerable diseases such as smallpox were eradicated. Even now, the research continues on, and we have faith that vaccines can be found.
The intervention of science in the health field reduced death rates, death during childbirth and stillbirths, et cetera. Surgeries were developed and operations were held. People were cured and antibiotics were given to strengthen the immunity system.
Contraceptives were introduced to avoid unwanted pregnancies and proper delivery methods were adopted, sanitation was given priority and vaccines and antibiotics to both the mother and the infant were used.
We can say that we live in a world where diseases can be cured, and even when a pandemic occurs, there is more hope of getting rid of it than our ancestors did.
Technological Field:-
Centuries ago, life was slower and people's world was smaller. They did not know about the vastness of the earth. They thought that everybody was like them, had no connection with each other, could hardly meet people who lived far from them.
Now, people have discovered the whole world, we know about whatever is happening in the other corners of the world. We have a faster transport system and many modes of transportation, electronic home appliances and so on. There are television, computers, and mobile phones to keep us entertained and informed.
Data storage has been easier since technology has storage memory chips, communication has become faster and more efficient.
There is the internet which has information about everything and has made it easier for our voices to reach the world.
From house chores to office jobs, everything has become less reliant on human power. Even the agricultural sector has benefited due to scientific intervention. The world has changed everyone's lives. People have adapted to this kind of life that depends upon technology.
Awareness and Education:-
Modern science with its knowledge and applications has urged people into critical thinking and questioning the beliefs that were put on them.
Breaking racial, sexual, gendered, classist, and casteist stereotypes have science contributing to it as well. Talking about tabooed issues is also what science has done.
It has talked about mental issues just like physical issues, normalizing it, finding help, and cure for it. Mental health is more spoken about and there are more people who don't look down upon it.
Acceptance of queer community, transgenders & reducing racial discrimination in society is urging people to give a thought about everything going around.
We have also started thinking about the environment and we know of the methods to work through it. Modern science has helped us see the problem and will help us see the solution.
These are a few of the many ways science has influenced our lives. Everything around us and within us is science and we are living with everything that is a part of science.
Our lives have become easier when it comes to physical energy relatively, but we have become busier and busier through time, and we don't have proper time for our loved ones. We need to change that. Science also says that humans need rest and entertainment, something lighthearted that will energize them. That is why we need to step out of our busy lives and appreciate the smallest of things. Go slow sometimes.
Modern science has marveled our lives, made us learn and see more, made us wonder and teach. It has made us try and experiment, let us have beliefs and respect others' beliefs. We have realized the wonders of our world and beyond. We went from not knowing our neighboring places to knowing the space out of the earth. We know that whole existence surrounding us is based on Laws of motion, either it is in state of rest or motion.
Science has built us, made us and keeps us together, and gives us answers. We rely upon it because it has proved to us its importance and it has helped us throughout.
