Education At Swoop
India is the country with the psychological mind of acquiring more of quantity
instead of quality. Indians focus on having more and more amount of quantity inrespective of the quality they get because the mind-set has to be changed yet. It
is like we are happier with 100s of plastic plates rather than a single steel plate
that lasts longer and is strong than these 100s plastic plates. The same is the case
with our education system. We Indians are using 100 of ill- techniques instead of
one good technique and that's why the quality is still to be acquired. We are
unable to acknowledge that grades do not insure and guarantees our children's
overall development or actual progress.
In colleges and schools, we teach a number of subjects such as income tax but
those pupils do not even know who to file their own return. They study
economies but do not know what practice is going in their country. Our education
system lacks the practicality of subject and this lacking of practicality has demoted
the quality of Indian education in India.
It is said that,
“tell me and I’ll forget
Show me and I’ll forget
Involve me and I learn”.
This quote also emphasizes the practical aspect of education. We teach coding
and different languages such as Java, C++ but those pupils write them on their
notebook due to the lack of technology. It is the time to change and upgrade the
educational system, otherwise, we will be in a position that we cannot emphasize
my control over it and will eventually in the hands of imported 'AI'. Our brain will
be trained by technological equipment, and we have to follow their order and
instructions. Education is basically the responsibility of the concerned state, and
they focus on providing quantity instead of quality with the purpose of fulfilling
the need of a higher population.
Impartiality in quality education:-
Quality education is made aware for only the rich pupils who can afford the
premier institutions such as IIT and IIM, there the whole scenario has changed the
quality of education as also up to the mark but it is not available to every person.
The government even with good intentions, might not be able to earmark a good
share of its revenue for education.
Financial constraints:-
A government has various financial constraints owing to various overheads such
as infrastructure development, disaster management, etc. If the government puts
any restrictions on such overheads they will result in losing their pools so
ultimately they try to put restrictions on these areas where the society is less
focused such as education or health care.
The government focuses on the most social dilemmas and ignores such overheads
which have less importance in creating their polls.
Obsolete teaching method:-
We are more focused on providing the theory lessons to pupils rather than giving
practical exposure to them. We need to understand the practicality results in the
first-hand experience to the students which are far better than theoretical
techniques. It also leads to the generation of interest among children. Zoology in
colleges we teach pupils does not get any accessibility nature.
Education as a market:-
Education is treated as a market nowadays and is done with the purpose of
earning money and providing education only for namesake.
Universities are chaotic:-
India has several universities but each seems to be working in the welfare of only
the teachers and their employees. The students are given fewer priorities and put
to a number of restrictions irrespective of their ideology.
Brain drain:-
It is a slang term used to indicate migration of individuals from home country to
any other country with the purpose of getting favourable professional
opportunities in other countries and from a desire to seek a higher standard of
living. It creates a vacuum of talent in universities. To avoid this, the government
should ensure the smooth flow of funds for the education section. The
government can arrange directly or indirectly sponsorship for eligible students.
The Indian education system is lacking focus which consequences in quantity over
quality.
Initially, the government focused on increasing the average literacy rate in India,
and in the race of that, we performed quantity over quality, Which results in
distortion of the educational sector. But these shortcuts cannot be applied In
education needs to revamp, everything needs to change.
