Giving is Better than Receiving

Giving is Better than Receiving

( by Neha Soni )

“The best way to find you is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi

Have you ever wondered why people start NGO? Why people donate things? Why people start donation camps? Why somebody helps someone with no intension? The answer is in one word: Happiness.

Not all things are associated with money. According to a report, folks that spend money on others had greater happiness, while people who spent more on themselves failed to.

Different sorts of giving to others:-

1. Money – many worthwhile causes need constant injections of money.

2. Goods and services – give new and second-hand goods or use your skills to assist others. For instance, if you have got an old boat that you simply not use, you'll be able to donate it to a charity. Once you recognize the way to donate a ship, the remainder of the method is kind of simple, because the charity sells your boat through an internet auction. Once the winning bid has been selected, the cash that has been collected by selling a boat is given to a charity. You have got some control over the charity that receives the cash, as there's a listing from which you'll be able to choose.

3. Time – sometimes people need someone to pay attention to them, someone to whom they can talk to. Volunteering is the best way to spend time with such kind of people.

4. Expertise – teaching others what you recognize.

5. Random Acts of Kindness – little things that you simply do for people in your life or total strangers, often without their knowledge, which will brighten their day.

6. Smile – the most cost-effective and simplest gift you'll be able to give another soul maybe a smile. It shows that another person acknowledges them and brightens the day of both the giver and receiver.

The reason why we must always have a giving attitude:-

1. Karma:-
Many people believe that what goes around comes around. They believe that if they are doing good deeds to others, the identical is done to them. It certainly does seem like happy people attract happiness; wealthy people attract money; generous people attract generosity.

2. Self-esteem:-
Research has shown that individuals who give to others feel good about themselves, adding to their level of self-esteem and self-confidence. Giving to others supports your feelings of self-worth.

3. Life satisfaction:-
People who give to others are generally more satisfied with their situation and life than people who don’t. Givers seem to have a better understanding of problems and difficulties in life because they need an answer to the root cause of the problem.

Helping others gives pleasure to your life and helps to form life worthwhile. While you're brooding about another person, you aren’t dwelling on your problems, so you lower your stress levels.

4. Feel good:-
Doctors have found that, while an everyday call of support, from one cancer sufferer to a different, helped the recipient, the important winner was the person ringing to assist a fellow-sufferer. The improvements in quality of life that the helper experienced far outstripped those of the receiver. It also appears that these benefits gained by helping others last for years.

People who are happy to relinquish to others are generally healthier and don’t suffer from anxiety and depression to an identical extent because of the community average. It seems that, contrary to popular belief, we don’t feel good by what we get; we feel good due to what we give. The explanation for this phenomenon is that it isn’t possible to feel those negative emotions after we are engaged in a similar way and compassionate deeds. A positive cycle is about up – we help others which makes us feel good which makes us more likely to interact in additional acts of kindness.

Wonder why people get associated with NGOs? Because they feel immense pleasure in helping others. One of the giving attitudes NGO is LDL.
